Team UFSC has participated in X CAMARB, the arbitration moot organized by Câmara de Arbitragem Empresarial – Brasil, in São Paulo, between October 24th and October 27th, 2019. More than 1000 competitors, organized in 60 different teams, have participated in the moot, representing universities and law firms from all over the country. Team UFSC was composed by UFSC law students: André Xavier, Bruna Pasta, Gabriel Masiero, Letícia Ghisi, Marco Pascoali, Murillo Preve, Thiago Ferreira and Vitor Esmanhotto. The following coaches have contributed in the team’s preparation: Vanessa Brand, who is a post-graduate student and lawyer, Aline Beltrame de Moura and Caetano Dias Correa, who are GEArb coordinators, and the lawyers Gustavo Schlösser and Gustavo Schiefler.

Moreover, the team was exclusively sponsored by Menezes Niebuhr Advogados Associados, one of the greatest law firms in the State of Santa Catrina. We cannot thank it enough.

Besides reaching the eliminatory rounds, Team UFSC also had one of its speakers, Vitor Esmanhotto, awarded 2nd best speaker of the competition.

Furthermore, the Team also had great results in the preparatory competitions for X CAMARB. In these competitions, the Team had the following results:

– Champions of South Preparatory Competition (Preparatória Sul);
– Murillo Preve awarded 3rd best speaker of South Preparatory Competition (Preparatória Sul);
– 10th position in Southeast Preparatory Competition (Preparatória Sudeste);

Team UFSC thanks all the ones who have helped us along the way.

Whether it was Alentejo or Bacamaso who was right, we will never know. Whether Ms. Coralina really did not know anything, we cannot assure either. We are sure about two things: the intensity of the study and oral practice sessions was proportional to the friendship we have built, and this was only the beginning of the history of the Federal University of Santa Catarina in arbitration moots. We are looking forward to the next challenges!
